Passap DesignaKnit Cable Links
The Passap DesignaKnit Cable Link cables both come with 9-pin serial port connections. If your computer only has USB connectors and doesn't have a COM port available, you need to purchase the USB Converter as well which we offer on our site.
There are two different Passap Cables:
Cable 1: DesignaKnit Passap Cable 1 will allow you to download stitch patterns only into the Passap Console. You connect the cable to the console when you are ready to download a pattern. The cable is then disconnected. Your computer does not have to be near the machine because you can pring the console to computer.
Cable 2: DesignaKnit Passap Cable 2 allows downloading of stitch patterns into the Passap Console as well as enabling you to use the Knit From Screen feature. When using the Knit From Screen feature in DesignaKnit, the program will instruct you regarding cast-on, row count, increases and decreases interactively while you knit using your computer screen. This replaces the FORM program. The computer has to be located beside the knitting machine where you can see the computer screen as you knit.
USB Converter: This allows you to attach the serial cable to a USB port on your computer.
