Art of Painting Knitted Fabric by Iris Bishop
Art of Painting Knitted Fabric by Iris Bishop - Another great collection from iris bishop. This series of patterns is for both the 24 stitch punch card machine and the passap 40 stitch repeat punch cards. You can knit any of these patterns on an electronic machine. Here is a word from Iris Bishop: "From the first designs I ever created for a knitting machine, I have always wanted to add more color to the fabric than the machine generally allows. Methods of introducing more colours like intarsia and double jacquard are very effective, but can be very time consuming or affect the “drape” and texture of the knitted fabric. My aim, therefore, when applying any type of paint or decoration to knitted fabric, is to use the minimum amount of paint (and work!) for the maximum effect, keeping as much of the original texture of the fabric intact as possible." This book also makes use of fabric paints. Iris suggests you use high quality non-acrylic based paints. See the starter kit of Jacquard fabric paint (made in the USA).
